How do I build my terrace with invisible fixings?

With the DiYrect assembly instructions for the FRÜH plank holder, your new wooden terrace will be a complete success. In this article we will explain step by step how you can screw your terrace invisibly.

That Mark the supporting timber or the spacing of the substructure on the back of the decking and screw the plank holders offset.

To do this, you must place the plank holder on the stop mandrel and screw in the first screw (5 x 17 mm) through the middle hole and tighten it.

Important: Screw only with Tighten torque, in do not overtighten and never pre-drill!

When fastening in the outer elongated holes, the moisture in the wood must be taken into account (you must ask your wood dealer for this) so that the screws can adapt to the behavior of the wood.

a) Depending on the board width, select the appropriate elongated holes (2 screws for No. 4929-02, 3 screws for No. 4924-01 and 3 or 4 screws for No. 4929-01)

b) With normal wood moisture, screw in the screw in the middle of the elongated hole (item B). This means that the screw can move inwards (dry phase) or outwards (wet phase).

c) Wet wood becomes smaller (shrinkage) when it dries. Screw in the screw in the outer area (pos. A) of the elongated hole so that it can move inwards when the wood shrinks (this increases the set distance between plank and plank)

d) Dry wood expands as soon as it becomes wet due to precipitation (rain, snow). Screw in the screw in the inner area (pos. C) of the elongated hole so that it can go with it to the outside (this reduces the fixed distance between plank and plank).

Turn the other boards with the mounted plank holder over and push them under the previous board with the unperforated flap side. Then screw in the hole  with the screw 5x30 mm.
